1. Emilia Clarke - Triassic Attack, 2010
Before her breakthrough as Daenerys Targaryen, Emilia Clarke appeared in a number of stage productions. Later she went to make a name for herself on television and was named as one of the "UK Stars of Tomorrow" by Screen International for her performance in the Syfy film Triassic Attack.
2. Kit Harington - War Horse, 2008
Before earning fame in GoT as Jon Snow in 2011, Kit Harington starred in a West End production of War Horse as Albert Narracott in 2008. At that time, he was studying at the Royal Central School of Speech & Drama.
3. Peter Dinklage - Living in Oblivion, 1995
Peter Dinklage was already an experienced actor before playing Tyrion Lannister. He made his film debut in 1995's Living in Oblivion, playing an actor named Tito who was tired of being typecast. After some minor roles, the New Jersey-born actor finally made his breakthrough in the 2000s with films like Tiptoes and The Station Agent.
4. Jason Momoa - Baywatch: Hawaii, 1999

His other notable roles include Dr. Alexander Isaacs/Tyrant in the three films of the Resident Evil film series and Bruce Wayne in the DC Universe series Titans.
11. Carice van Houten - Suzy Q, 1999
Carice van Houten was already a widely acclaimed actress before becoming the Red Priestess Melisandre. Her first leading role was Suzy in the 1999 film Suzy Q, which won her the Golden Calf for Best Acting in a Television Drama.
12. Alfie Allen - Elizabeth, 1998
Alfie Allen was born into a Hollywood family. He is the son of film producer Alison Owen and actor Keith Allen. His uncle is actor Kevin Allen and he is also a third cousin of singer Sam Smith. This English actor and singer had a successful career before Game of Thrones. 17. Conleth Hill - Blue Heaven, 1992
"Lord Varys" Conleth Hill spent much of his career on stage before Game of Thrones, though he did appear in a handful of television series. One of his most well known television roles was playing Roache in the British sitcom Blue Heaven.

Beginning his career in commercials, Isaac Hempstead Wright made his film debut as Tom Hill in the horror film The Awakening in 2011, the same year he earned his breakthrough as Bran Stark in Game of Thrones.

When actress Hannah Murray was just a teenager, she joined the British teen drama series Skins, and received a BAFTA Audience Award for her performance. She reprised the role in a feature-length episode during Skins' final season after she was already appearing as Gilly on GoT.
